New York import Poni Room has been one of the most anticipated openings of Auckland’s new Commercial Bay and so far, it has not disappointed.
With its coveted corner spot overlooking the Waitemata Harbour, Poni Room offers an enticing seafood-focused menu based on Japanese and South East Asian cuisines. However, the feature which has got most notice is their rose bar; the fun pink wine is available by the glass, bottle, tap, or … fish pitcher – all from their self-serve station, offering an interactive drinking experience like no other.
All of the above features were front-of-mind while the fit-out for the space was planned, designed, and created. Working with everyone involved on this project was paramount to ensure the style and set-out of the eatery meshed with not only the central city and Commercial Bay itself, but also with its family restaurant in NYC.
We worked with the owners, designers, architects and other trades to complete this project, and our works included a new purpose-built switchboard, lighting and power distribution to the space, emergency lighting, specialist lighting design and installation, and all electrical and communications wiring.
